help, trying to identify it's a massy 44 special and it has hyd. the ser plate is missing is there a way to find year or ser,mod # somewhere else on tractor?
 
I can't even IMAGINE anyone wasting their time trying to ID an old Massey... get life, for Pete's sakes!

I was told a while back don't quote me on this because I'm not sure someone said them had the serial # on top of the transmission also I have a 44 an its not there but its worth a shot
 
should be on a flat area on the top of the transmission case.You may need to wire brush it to be able to see it. Bill M.
 
Actually, I'm colorblind when it comes to tractors, and there's a Massey 55 diesel in the varied assortment of tractors in my "collection".

After a long day of dealing with a whole bunch of stuff guys broke I was just being a smarta$$!
 
I remember the sit ins; never really understood the concept of civil disobdience; why not change the laws, if you don't agree with them? Never thought about a sit in on YT...........count me out.
 
on the top of the transmission case next to your left foot by the pto lever. Example 44g1rf 50000 Letters may very. Example I gave is for a gas, regular alltitude, rowcrop, foot clutch. Special's serial #'s started a 50000
 
Hey, Goose, it"s all good. I admitted to being a bit over the edge last night, in RARE bad form, probably the nastiest thing I"ve ever posted on here in almost 30,000 posts, a FEW of which may have been helpful to SOMEONE!

It was just ONE OF THOSE DAYS, and I can own up to it. OK?
