General info. about front tires on a loader

I'm just about to get a Case const. king loader (580 or 530 who knows????) going and will need to replace the front tires. Most of the use will be moving 4'x4' round bales of hay in summer and some snow removal in the winter. The tires are 7.50x16 and I'm looking at some used LT 215-85 R16 tires with a load rating of 2600lb. Will used truck tires be ok on this tractor or should I spend the extra money for some real tractor tires?

The factory fronts on those 580s were 12 ply trailer tires. With straight tread.

I can check the load ratings on mine to make sure but I think they are around 3500# each.

I would get real tractor tires, lot less sliding sideways in the mud and they are usually tougher too. I don't know that you would save much $$$ with truck tires anyway unless they were used.

On my loader tractor I removed the original style tri rib tire and replaced them with nearly bald mud and snow tires. even though they were the same size it made a big difference in soft ground.

Put the correct tires on it you won't be disappointed, truck tires have a lot of surface on the ground and will be a lot harder on the steering.

I have a MF 285 with a loader and I replaced the front tires with take offs from my dually. They work just fine. They are load range D or E.

If you're close to southside VA, stop by and I'll give you a couple.
