Click on the video for an eyeopener.
Also Google HR 45 to see what congress is up to.Go to Snopes to read about it. These freaks have got to be stopped.

I love Congress. Only they would be short-sighted enough to do this to law abiding citizens, so when the gun is stolen and the criminal files off the serial number, the entire system is worthless.

Another round of "feel good" legislation that would be enough to get whomever voted for it out of office, hopefully.

Hopefully, it's just a lot of smoke to appease the anti-gun nutcases.

I remember a number of years ago when there was a movement to keep on file the firing pin imprint and the barrel imprint of every firearm sold in the U.S. I pointed out in a newspaper article that simply rubbing a piece of 400 grit sandpaper across a firing pin one time will permanently alter the original imprint. I also mentioned I have a gun parts catalog on my desk that lists aftermarket replacement barrels, some made overseas, for virtually every firearm being manufactured.

The simple fact is, for usually less than one hundred dollars the original firing pin imprint and barrel imprint can be negated. And, obviously, for someone with criminal intent it would just be a business expense.

Just like the idea of having microstamping on the firing pin or serial numbers on bullet casings is ridiculous. After 20 rounds of ammo, the microstamping on the firing pin is illedgible.

Would the use of Black powder muzzle loaders create any troblems with the proposed laws ?? Maybe GPS could be used to track the bullets... GriN..
