Gatherin' Hay

Gotta go build 15 11-bale stacks of hay this morning so they'll be ready to haul later in the season.

Don't know why I always dread this job. Only takes a couple of hours. :>(

Those cattle will enjoy that when the snow falls.
If the rainfall we got in the last 10 days is an indication of the snow fall we will get this winter I'd better tune up the snowblower. Hal

Fer sure,

Last year was the longest winter I've ever put in.

Gonna stack at least 6 stacks right at the corral gate to be ready for those darned blizzards. :>)

Why not leave them there? I noticed in Virginia that they leave the bales sit scattered around until it's time to haul them off. That way, you don't have to handle them twice.

Love the first photo of the bales in the field.

What state are we looking at on the horizon?

I'll bet the "grapple" on the front end loader is real handy for stacking bales multi-layer.

First time I've seen one of those.

Thanks for sharing.

holy smokes that field is huge.... seems almost like it's as big as my whole province, last time I saw a horizon that far away......

If you took out all the dirt between the grass there it would be the same as 10 acres here lol. Looks like you could walk across the field without stepping on a plant!

I doesn't snow 30 inches per month in VA.
SO allan, you got 107 or so T of hay off of what looks to be 120 acres?

SOmeone once told me that Nebraska is a nice place for a single guy, he said there's a woman behind every tree...

I think that field with all the bales has a real fine beauty to it! So different from my world where there are trees on both sides of most roads.
Thanks for the pics.

Was doing that yesterday til dark, there are 100 4x4 bales of straw out there and the combine still has 25 acres to go. Finally dried enough to bale after the combine. Got some action shots for future reference. He makes em that size cause they fit the truck body, 15 per load, if it was not for the tailgate/door and things sticking out, it would hold 19. Nice weather today, another long one starts now.... :)
