Massey Harris V-8 conv.

Well Ive seen them done before and finally want to stray away from a full factory resto and try one for fun. Ive seen them done on 22, 33, 44 models etc. Any info on if there is an easier model to work with on this project and what Iam looking for as far as mating the V-8 drivetrain to the massey coupling. I will be using a GM setup Thx

I had a Neighbor with 1500 horse power going into a MH 44 gearbox/finals. It didn't break. The U joint should be easy, the clutch and bell housing should be available from racing sources. The Key is a governor to limit the engine speed to ~2000RPM, or putting in a 1:2 reduction to allow the engine to turn to 4000. Sweet sounding, and mighty. I would not run it W/O governor. Nor at high ground speeds. (pulling is a different sport)
