'00 chevy 1500 silverado

What might a person expect to recive from insurance co. for a totaled '00 Chevy 1500 silverado ext. cab, 4 door, shortbed, 5.3 V8, 4X4 Z71, about 280,000 miles.

Just curious what kinda money they are gonna give us???

Check NADA values or Kellybluebook under resale value. That should be close.

Don't take less than 5000. Private party value on KBB.com for a pretty standard set of options in good condition is 7800 and fair is 7100 so don't take less than that. Fight them. Go out to a bunch of dealers websites and pint of copies of similar trucks in case you need to prove the value of the truck. What insurance company are you through? What happened?

Remember you are to recieve reimbursement for YOUR LOSS.You are Not selling them a truck.You are to be reimbursed for the cost of replacing what you have lost. Meaning the insurance company is tasked with replaceing your truck with an identical one. Start looking around for a match for yours locally and regionally. That is the price they owe you.
Kelly Blue book, Edmunds etc. is to assist in determine value in a trade or sale not set a value on a loss.
THIS is a replacement for a loss. Hold out for every penney of what it WILL cost you out of your pocket to replace your truck with an identical one.Do NOT let them assign a value to your wrecked truck. Be ready with examples of what it will cost YOU to replace it.
Been there and done this. They will come across with the $$$ if you stick by your guns.
