O/T Gooseneck

I am looking at a Loadmaster Gooseneck flatbed trailer, 20 x8 deck 5' beaver tail, can't read the sticker anymore, but it has 12" I beams for the frame, it is a tandem axle single wheel, 8 lug bolt pattern on the hubs. Does anyone have a rough idea on the GVW of this? I was thinking it might be 14,000 to 16,000, but thats just a shot in the dark.
Thanks in advance

Most likely is a 14,000# capacity. There should be an I.D. tag on it somewhere, either on the inside of the gooseneck framework or it could be inside one of those I-beams underneath the trailer.

I found the sticker that has: make model & all that other stuff but it is faded so bad you cant read it, I did find a Dexter axle tag stuck with silicone to the hitch tube , but you can read that either

Doesn't surprise me that the tag is faded beyond reading. Nearly all those trailers live outside and the sun really does a number on them.

There should be a V.I.N. on the inside of one of the I-beams underneath, usually it is added by running beads of weld, but the V.I.N. won't tell you what you want to know either.

A tandem axle, single wheel with 8 bolts almost always indicates 7,000# per axle or 14,000# for the trailer.

Hi OC,

99% of tandem single wheels trailers are limited too the load rating of the tires & wheels.

Now that's maximum load weight on "good tires". Throw on some cheapies or weathered tires and you'll loose alot of weight carrying capacity.

T-Bone, ya mean if I blow up the rotted, weather checked ones that are on it I can't carry the 580 extendahoe on it??? Awww man..............( and all my best laid plans)
