Australians Riding across the USA

Sitting up here in Perryville Mo. For the River Hills Annual Antique Tractor Ride and if you haven't heard about them there is a group of folks from Down Under that are riding 1960's era Chamberlain tractors across the USA. One of their stops is here for tonight and for part of tomorrow.

I talked to several of them this evening and I have to say they are some really nice folks. They do these rides across Australia every 2 years on tractors. Really neat!

Hope to get to visit with them when they come through here,

They were at the Penfield, IL show. From there they were headed to Nashville. Several of them wanted to see the Grand Ole Oprey. Super nice folks to visit with. Today (Saturday) some stopped in Perryville, MO; while others were at the Greenville, IL antique tractor show. I know they are planning on attending the EAA air show in Oshkosh, WI. Then headed west in some sort of a schedule and end up in LA, CA for the trip home. In talking with them, all of their tractors are 1960s vintage with Perkins diesel engines, cruising at 28-30 mph pulling 28 foot travel trailers and getting 12-15 mpg.
Warning: From what I have heard do not attempt to get in a beer drinking contest with them. If you get an opportunity to visit with them, do so in a heartbeat. They are super folks!!!

I bet I saw them going north on state rt 78 a couple miles south of Farmington IL at about noon on friday. I was spraying beans right along the highway and saw a couple of odd looking tractors pulling campers.
