Pretty handy machines.

I would need OSHA to put me in protective custody if my boss found out I allowed something like that to happen! The world is full of rocket scientists.

I drive a forklift for the company I work for and am 1 of the forklift instructor, that would get you fired and everyone helping on the spot, what third world country is this at??

I THINK IT WAS BUILD IN HART MICHIGAN BY DAVE HART? THERE'S A PIC ON IMPLEMENT FOR SALE

Friday and Loves were develpoed as noted for orchard work- this included hauling wagons on the road to processing plants and packing depots, hence the high speed capability similar to European tractors that are also expected to haul on the roads. Mostly Chrysler drive trains, Dodge and Plymouth flat head 6s for engines. couple threads in orphans section furom. Forklift put on basic Friday probably has large belt drive hydraulic pump, maybe Clark based forklift. RN

It could be worse.
I don't work for them, but a similar stunt was pulled by a company I know and a person lost their life. I do know it involved having a 350 lb person sit on the rear counterweight because the back end kept coming off the ground.
Needless to say, the widow got a hefty payoff from it.

You"ll want to search (Google and the archives here) for Jacob Love, Love tractors, and David/Dave Friday and Friday tractors.
Dave was Jacob"s son-in-law (?); they worked together for awhile(?) until Dave set up himself(?) (reports differ; mislaid my notes).
Both built variations of the original 6cyl Chrysler Cptn running gear CO-OP, one or the other (or both) adding a 2-spd rear for more speed. (The straight 8 models were apparently built by Custom).
Both apparently also built/assembled other units, such as your forklift, with other power trains; fascinating history.

Michigan History Magazine did quite an in-depth article on Hart/Friday tractors not too long ago. Don't know if you could find it the web or not.

No they weren't made in Hart, MI, if I recall correctly they were made in either Spring Lake or Grand Haven Michigan. I grew up in Rothbury MI just 12 miles from Hart. There was a Friday family 1.5 miles down the road that were kin to the Friday tractor founder. Funny thing is the kids had a 520 and a 720 Deere.
