finding a boom for a 3pt .posthole digger.

My friend found most of a 3pt posthole digger at his dads estate. He has the auger,gearbox and pto shaft. We are looking for the boom and 3pt yolk. Does anyone know where we may buy one? We are looking into having a machine shop make us one but would like all options and possibles before making decisions.Shipping being a factor in buying one could be the catalist for making one. Any help will be appreciated.Thank you.

A three point yolk from the salvage, or farm store, and some 2.5 inch tubing With a bend in it will be fine Put a truck universal joint at the top to prevent rotation of the gear box. Also use a shear pin system with a 5/16" grade five bolt in the auger to prevent injury or wound up parts. JimN

Post hole diggers bolted to the bottom of loader buckets offer fine control. Down pressure too for hard soil.
Just drive the unit with a hydraulic motor. That allows stalling without breaking shear pins. And reversing to back out of binds.

It would be cheaper just to buy a new one,they don't cost much new.

Try calling DN Equipment Parts. 877-885-4300. They carry post hole diggers and replacement parts. They should have what you need.
