Finally found a good use for used plastic baler twine.

SHOE STRINGS!! You just can't buy decent shoe strings anymore that last in farm boots! I bet I've gone through 3 pair of leather (half cotton) shoe strings in the last 6 months. I busted another one yesterday while out in the barn. I looked over at that big pile of used plastic twine and thought "WHY NOT"! It works! I've probably got a two thousand year supply!

And if you have some netting and boots with hooks you can use it to tie your boots together at the most inopportune time and fall on your face. BTDT :>)

Shoot there's thousands of things it is good for. #1 to clog up the mower blades because the wife or kid just drops it on the ground where they where when they throw the bale of hay into the goat pen. LOL
#2 used to let the green beans climb up. #3 to make rows for planting things,
#4To trip you when you or some one else dropped it on the ground and you so happen to walk that way and the weeds have grown up into the stuff.
#5 if you want to take the time it can be tired together to make a good strong fish net.
#6 use it over the top of chicken pens to help keep hawks and owls from flying in and getting the birds.
I could list a lot more but then you might stop reading this LOL

Daughter's big, dumb dog kept running through the garden right after I planted several years ago, and I told her he'd better come up with another route or he was going to lose his happy home. She must have thought I was serious, 'cause when I got home from work, she had driven (rebar) electric fence posts about every 5 feet, and tied twines together to make about a 10 strand twine fence. Used a whole barrel of used twine. It kept dumbo out, and I had a hard time getting in myself.

Neighbor #1 entered pasture gate where neighbor #2 had fed 1k lb round bales.Neighbor #2 who was mowing the pasture with rotory cutter drives over to greet neighbor #1.Rotory cotter picked up twine several yards from where #1 was standing among the tangles of twine. The mower reeled up the twine lassoing #1's foot, threw him to ground and was draging him to the cutter. Thanks be to he who watchs over fools from above that 2 was a seasoned tractor operator and was able to stop the action resulting in only sprained knee.Need I say,2 picks up and burns the twine on a regular basis now.Just one more example of a small oversite that near resulted in tragedy.

It perfect for making axle seals too, just let it wrap over the years, till you have about a foot thick layer.
too bad it chews a brg once in a while too.

I forgot to put on a belt on my pants the other day and realized it when I got to the barn. It makes a good belt too.

I think I have the most "backward" use. I keep some in the tool box on the four wheeler. It is great for make'n emergency repairs to a hot wire fence. Tie wire broke on a corner, just loop it around the wire and tie it. Deer wrecked a few insulaters, just tie it up to a tree limb. You don't get bit and you don't have a short. Just unplug when I go check cows the next day and fix right. Saves a trip back to the house to unplug and then fix right. Some day I am going to get one of them high $ chargers that has the remote where you can shut it off from any where, maybe next times calves go over $120. Till then I will use the baler twine.
