While I'm waiting on the hay to cure, I gotta dance thru this injector pump this morning and try to make that darned combine run right.

Just as I suspected. The hard part is gonna be finding a clean spot out in that garage to work on the silly thing. :>(

Wife is gonna beller 'bout the diesel smell too. :>)

Dear Allan,
That Roosamaster pump is common to many tractors of all colors. Please, please, please, take some of your wonderful pictures as you dissassemble and reassemble it. You would be helping hundreds of people as a week never goes by without people asking questions concerning this pump on the forums.

Okay will do.

I was quoted a price of between $700 and $1200 to send the pump in to a "qualified rebuilder", have it rebuilt and back overnight.

On the other hand, the kit was a whooping $23.

I dunno, it's just one of those difficult choices a man has to make in life. :>)

Thanks! You are ok! Actually, if you had the time, you could make a slide show for a power point presentation or even a video and sell it. As you say, many places charge a thousand dollars to install a $20 governor ring and seals. With instruction, the Roosamaster is not that much harder than installing a kit in a Quadrajet carburetor.
 
I agree Tom! Allan take lots of pics. James has been doing that as he rebuilt the sickle mowers, changed sections, etc. and other pieces of eqmt. He's been able to help a number of folks with their questions because of the pics.

As they say, one pic can be worth a 1000 words.
 
Allan with your transmission experience the pump should be a cake walk. I had someone else do the last pump that needed rebuild to the tune of around 500.00. I guess it's the fear of the unknown. Stan
 
You shoulda bought that engine off the F2 I had. It had a newly rebuilt injection pump on it! Cost $700 at the time.
