Just got this off ebay. Pics on ebay looked much better but it's a starting point.. Gotta keep the horsies happy with running water on the pastures. This is #5 and should do it. even with 4 tanks, we always managed to have someone on a place where my legs and vehicle powered the running water. Bright side of this one is, just have to untie a couple ropes to strip it  . Then cut off all the sticky outy stuff and round off a couple corners. Neighbor has a tank like is on this one. If I can talk him out of it, I'll make it a double, less chance of the horses doing something stupid (not that they ever would) and getting hurt also. Just thought I'd share, waiting on it to quit raining so I don't melt away while working  .

Weren't you asking a while back what would be a good starting point to make you a little trailer for the farm? Soory if I'm wrong, but looks like you have a starting point now.

Sir Yes Sir! That was me.

Really don't need another trailer now (didn't then either if I'm honest). Just that everytime I need to move something, what I have is occupied. Been going through 10 years of treasure (wife calls it clutter) and confirming that the last thing I need to do is bring in something else that takes space. This one should be set up (just talked the neighbor out of the other tank) and in use by the end of the week. Wanted to paint it, but that'll have to wait til some winter before I kick off.

good work, i made myself about the same thing, i also need to fill stock tanks where there is no water and also had the problem of no mater what i put the tank in it was always occupying the vehicle i needed , found a little trailer out on a friends ranch and he gave it to me,[hadnt used it in 10 years]after a little repair and tires it works great, can haul water and feed plus a few posibiles with me on the same vehicle and can be pulled by anything thats handy tractors pickups ect, i had a setup like yours for the water hose but changed it because it took forever to fill a tank, now i use a 1 1/2 inch stiff wall hose, its flexible but will not kink, no valve just throw it up over the tank and secure ,due to gravity water will not flow out the hose when it is over the top of the tank, this setup will fill a 100 gallon tank in less than 5 minutes

These were meant to spread liquid poopoo on fields and had a valve on them that ould open from nothing to 3 inch. Damn fool horses got caught on one and drained all the water out and another was lame for a month or so with a cut. my other 4 have drink bowls on them and this one will also along with a valve when I get both tanks mounted and plumbed. That valve setup on there now would last about 20 minutes with our horses. I had an old Army water buffalo, but it was just too heavy. Ended up trading it to a military freak for 2 like these. Think I can quit buying water tanks now.

Hey Dave, Where are you at in Dland? That HAS plate looks familiar. By the way is that trailer TUV approved?

Close to Schweinfurt. The plate is Hassfurt about 20 miles away. Inspection isn't necessary.

(quoted from post at 13:58:23 07/15/09) Is that an old fence post welded on the left side?

Rick

Very possible. I picked it up about a quarter mile from the old East/West German border . Lot of stuff in that area was cobbled together using stuff from the old fences, barriers, and towers.
