This is the first year I can remember that I could not do hay because of rain. The last week we have gotten around 3 inches of rain and just last night/ this morning we got 1.5 inches. I haven't even got half my hay done yet but oh well at least the under growth is nice and green and thick

rich, from what i read, this year is an el nino current, causing higher rains in the us and a drought in australia. and in june, there was a volcano erupted in the kuril islands in russia, putting up a huge ash cloud. the ash cloud also caused the purple sunsets we have been having.

wel,you got further than me.i have'nt cut notting yet because of the unsettled weather.
I got 300 acre to do.

We just got a break, had to haul bedding and feed for my neighbor yesterday, to this huge dairy in the next county north, giant concrete bunkers, and was more than 1000 head that I thought, more like 2000, never seen anything like it, and to my disbelief the area is still mostly farms, some large ones, compared to here. There was hay down everywhere, alfalfa too, 3 day window + there is a bunch of hay to do here, just not enough help, as my friend is under doctors orders to retire, we got 600 small squares in Saturday, some real nice stuff need to do about 1400 more, rest in round, I took some photos, no time to post yet, his round baler is out on rental, they hit something, piece of wood, I swear everytime he does that, someone screws it up, was new last year, not worth renting/custom work, unless he's running it, then again, we got a piece of firewood in the pick up of the NH 315 baler, Sat., but saw it in time to stop.

Sold 200 bales in the field yesterday. Helped the guys crew load them. It started to rainn as he was writing the check! How's that for timing?
