Pigs

Well I posted a few questions about breeding pigs or (making bacon) as I told my wife and we had 16 born last night one died so far but looks like it never had a chance it was at the birthing end when I went out to check on her at 4:30. All the others are fine and up walking and doing what little pigs do. My F-I-L estimated 12 I said 10 BOY, will he be surprised when I tell him.

only 14 if I remember correctly but last time we raised pigs when I was about 9 the sow lost a couple after giving birth to 15. I think if I can keep a good eye on them and make sure all drink and if one gets to looking weak pull him and hand feed all will survive. All are strong and nursing 2 runts seem to be strong as any of the others and keep feeding so I am sure with some help we will have plenty of Bacon in the future

they were on the bottom,wait top,no middle,now front, heck they move around so much it's almost like each teat has a different flavor lol.

What is the deal with the hind ones??

you might be suprised to know after a short time they will have their own " mamary orfice" and the extra ones will starve, they are really territorial Just used the wrong word apparently and had to think of something to describe what milk comes out of as got rejection notice from yt

if I notice that happening I will hand feed the extra.they all seem to eat well and are already rooting and eating stuff off the ground 2 days old
