OT Nearly lost my mind update

Last thursday I posted of the frustration of drought, said If things didn't go better I was going fishing and not coming out of the woods till it rained, well it went better, but I still went fishing, three days, many ice cold Wisconsin beers and still no rain, but momma made me come out of the woods and go back to work anyway. Oh well I feel much better now.:>) Caught some nice smallmouth bass too.

Good on you, fishin and a few cold ones will cure a lot of things, used to do the same thing, head over to local water reservoir, really a 7 mile long lake/flooded valley, where there is clean fresh water fishing, no houses or camps, find a spot thats open and spend an afternoon/evening, best thing is that it's the local city water supply, so everything is clean or so we think LOL !

I am blessed with 2 national scenic riverways within 25 miles of my home. No houses, docks, motorboats and very few people, just very little water in them now, gotta pick your channels or you run aground, makes it easier to find the fish though.

I did the same thing on saturday afternoon. Wife and I went striped bass fishing (first sunny day in 3 weeks) and she and I both caught a 25 incher. Had to throw them back though, too small for legal keeper limit. Still, a very enjoyable day out.

hay CJ is it real dry over by ST Croix Falls? coming up that way on Wednesday on motorcycle and want to do some camping around that area

Very, very dry there too, if we don't get rain this week I am sure it will be a red flag warning if there is any wind at all. Be careful with campfires, DNR here loves to write tickets.

That's cool, we have the mighty Hudson River nearby, problem is the silt bed is contaminated with PCB's water itself has been cleaned up for a long time, shame that G.E. did what they did and are now dredging the entire river bed, I trust nothing from that river, though in a canoe, you can really get in places where you need to be, especially for those pike hangin round the banks, they're easy, toss em a segmented bomber lure and make sure you have a steel leader on, they hit often. Nothing like the small and large mouth bass at that reservoir, walleye too.
