Nearly lost my mind last night.

Was attempting to round bale some of my "Grass drought hay" last night. This stuff is so fine and so dry that it just slid right through the baler, tried everything to stop it, tried bigger windrows, no luck, tried setting the rollers tighter no luck. Tried speeding up, no luck, tried slowing down, no luck. finally got so frustrated I unhooked the round baler and went and got the old 24T JD baler and am going to square bale it this afternoon. Hope that goes better. If not I am going fishing with a large cooler full of Ice cold Wisconsin beer, and not coming out of the woods till it rains. I like the sound of that better anyway. Donations for beer readily accepted. I'll be going thru a lot of it! :>)

Sorry for your troubles. Anyone who farms or raises hay understands your frustration.

One reason we bought the Krone balers was because of the fixed chamber. If the baler can pick it up, it gets baled, doesn"t fall through.

If it makes you feel any better. I might be headed north to join ya if today gets any worse here in Ohio. My second cut alfalfa was real thin and the rake ain't picking it up and the baler ain't either, kicked two bales and the spring on the u bolt that latches the kicker pan back in position went missing so now i am home to order parts and thought i would drop in on YT. Good luck with your venture.

If you liked COLD Kingsbury try "Lost Lake" pilsner. It's brewed from the Kingsbury recipe and only $8.99/case here in town.

Good beer!

We need to get half my weather to you and half yours to me. I was raking hay out of 3" of water today!

sometimes running cross ways across the windrows can help get the bale baling in tough conditions. Once the bale is started then you can go with the windrow again. Has worked in slippery grass for us. What kind of baler?
