ford 3000 diesel clutch problem

My tractor worked fine a week ago and I went to use it yesterday and NO CLUTCH. Where did it go? Do tractor clutches just stop working with no warning? Any suggestions to check before thinking of a new clutch. Will not go into gear, grinds, pto works.

Probably your clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Not uncommon. Probably from a leaking rear oil seal - gets oil on the disc when it's hot then sticks together after it cools. A lot of guys will block their clutch pedal down when they put the tractor away. Get the tractor out in the open. Get the engine warmed up. Put it in one of the higher gears and drive around with the clutch pedal pushed down and stomp on the brakes a few times. This will usually loosen it.
Try the Ford board

if driving/braking won't loosen it, then there is an inspection plate on the side of the bellhousing. remove the cover and shine light in there and use a pry bar or large flat blade screwdriver to GENTLY pry on the clutch. most times that will loosen it. clutches get stuck when damp and they rust up. make sure to block the clutch pedal open with a block or tie it open with a chain so it won't happen again. if the clutch still won't work, split the tractor and install and new clutch, PP, release bearing and pilot bushing.

Thanks Guys
The tractor is working again. Glad the clutch didn't need to be replaced this time.
Thanks Again, I was Lucky
