I have just brought home a styled B John Deere tractor sn239548 can some one tell me what year this is Thanks

If that is the correct serial # it is an unstyled 1936. The style started with 60000 in 1939 and final year began with 299175 in 1952.

The serial number for a 39 would be found on the right side just below the mag. Later years (and I am not when this started) the tag was moved to the left side just in front of the flywheel. (Facing the flywheel).

I happen to have a parts tractor out in the field with the number 239546.

You're right about the 60,000's serial number starting in 1939, but his serial number is in the 200,000's. I'm guessing you just looked quick and missed a digit. Easy to do!
