Shameful Behavior

Yeah, I know.

Nothin' screams "lazy" like a feller running around the field with the loader still on.

Sorry, only tractor that was free at the time.

Trying to get this rained on hay off the field. Been laying there for 10 days and has been turned three times now.

Tried to bale last night at 7pm; still too darned wet. Will try again today.

For sure,

I'm at the point now that I'm just trying to get it off of there.

I'll even bale it too darned dry if I get a window. :>)

Dad mowed around the yard a couple days ago - I told him not to because it was going to rain. Has rained on it twice already in the last three days. Looks like rain again this afternoon, too.

I'm just glad we had some issues with our haybine tractor so he didn't go lay down 50 acres or something like that!

I don't know whether it is shameful or not. Back when we had only three tractors I always did summer fallow with the 4020 equipped with a loader. We needed the loader a lot and It was a lot of work to take it off just to pull a rod weader

Aren't you worried you're gonna wear that hay out by moving it so much? Ha Ha

I have considered trying to find a rain gague that will accomidate 8".

My 5" gague has ran over once this spring, and we came close to it last Friday night when we got 4"

Tedder would have had her ready in a day or two! Still raining here, over 5 weeks since we had 2 days without rain. Looks like it might break on Weds.

WHAT I WORRY ABOUT when I see someone running a tractor with a loader like this is the increased chance of a roll-over when the loader is up. RUN IT LOW if you have to run the tractor with the loader on or REMOVE THE LOADER.

Didn't think any thing about you having a loader on tractor, no one arouind here takes them off. They just leave them on all the time. Have a friend that has just about tore everything up "like the side of shead, corner of camper, along with a few trees & bushes". He is one that puts tractor in gear before engaging BRAIN.

Why in the world would some one go to the trouble to remove a loader when you needed the tractor for a short time for some thing else? I once used my loader tractor on a PTO bailer by proping up the loader rams with angle iron about a foot long and sliding off the PTO pump to use the bailer drive shaft. You know that you will need the loaded again in a day or two.

You guys need to move here to phoenix where
it gets to 120 degrees in the summer.
you won't have to worry about wet hay.

Rollover!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anybody ever seen a hill(or a rock) in all the photos Allen has posted. Just jelous as I fix my plow resets in Maine ED

Lazy? must be guilty as charged- been close to two decades since I took the loader off the 3020- but I do have a quik-tach to drop the bucket and switch to the bale fork when needed. Without the bucket, just the boom hanging there- don"t even notice it. Don"t hit as much when swinging around corners either! Quik-tach provides some handy mounts for chains when lifting things, as well. Also keeps the bucket cylinders from banging on the boom frame and flattening their ends.

I know,

That old sister has been up on two wheels more time than I wanna count.

When I feel 'er going over, I just turn "into" the tip and hit that lever to drop the loader. Kinda like drivin' on ice. :>)

So far, I've been able to catch it in time.

It isn't too bad empty, but with a heavy bale on the front end, she'll sure come on over if a guy doesn't watch it. :>(

Hay laying there for 10 days, turned 3 times and rained on! Our beef cattle would take one sniff of it and walk away. Better just roll it up for the mushroom growers. That happens alot here in PA with old hay.

Those tedders are no good for Alfalfa They shake all of the leaves off maybe it does not make a difference if it has had so much rain that stems are all you have. Son managed to get his Alfslfs in without rain. Had to bale two nights. First night it got to moist next night it got to dry. baled any how as rain was forcast Trucks pulled out of field and it started raining.

I'd think tedding it out when wet and letting it dry works better than raking it a half dozen times and laying out in the sun forever...

Color me lazy, but I usually leave my loader on when baling. It just doesn't make sense to fight it on and off every day between baling and hauling bales. I barely have any time as it is. With the bale spear on the loader, it's not much of an annoyance to bale with it on. Although lately I've been baling in swampy ground, so I have to take off every bit of weight than comes off when baling.

All the folks out here are running around doing what you're doing with their loaders on and nobody seems to think they are lazy! Busy is probably a more appropriate term. Fact of the matter is I have never seen anybody in these parts remove any loader, quick attach or otherwise, to do any farming.

Yer 2nd cutting seems to be coming along fine.
We had a dry late spring and we've been irrigating since May. Normally we get our first cutting on Mother Nature and then start irrigating after that. Not this year! Doesn't bode well for the cows later this summer if we run out of water in August. You folks seem to be getting all the rain this year.
We just got our first(and only) cutting off last week and had perfect weather for it.

I guess I am shameful. My loader never comes off, no matter what I am doing. It is just too much trouble to take it off, and too much hassle to put it back on. BTDT!

What's shameful is that paint peeling on the hood. That doesn't meet the Allan standard:)
