FIRST WHAT DO I DO TO GO BACK TO SMALL LETTERS ACCIDENTLY HELD SHIFT BUTTON DOWN TOO LONG AND NOW CAINT GET BACK HELP HELP HELP TRIED ESCAPE BUT DIDNT WORK

To your far Left on the keyboard, just above the "shift" key, there is "caps lock." Hit it once.
 
For a single capital letter, hold down a "shift" key while you type the letter, then let it up. You have to do this for every capital letter.

The "caps lock" key makes everything a capital, until you hit the "caps lock" key a second time.

Hitting the "caps lock" will light a lamp in the upper right corner of your keyboard somewhere. It"s your hint that the "caps lock" key is "active".
 
Guess I missed that day in typing class 55 years ago,and also got frustrated when things got mixed up.It,s been a long but very good day.Thanks all.
 
Keyboard may be a little sticky... brush on the vacumn cleaner works for me... maybe a trip through the dishwasher with the dinner plates may be in order..(just kidding)
 
My old fingers are beginning to curve a little and aren't as nimble as they once were. On occasion I bump the Caps Lock key which leads to frustration if touch typing long paragraphs.

There actually are ways to disable the Caps Lock feature, but so far I've not used one of them since the computer registry must be changed.

Click on name. Above "Caps Lock" hit Tab and observe,saves using mouse.
