please help i have bought a case 970 agriking powershift nothing was working we found a seized lever and managed to get the steering and brakes
but then i messed with the other levers whilst it was running the pto started turning then the engine stalled and now i cant start it or even turn it over i think something has engaged and now is stuck there can anyone help

you may have gotten more than you bargained for.

The powershift on these tractors is fairly complicated. first thing you need is a good repair manual.
its pretty tough to just give advise on what the hangup is,as there is plenty that can go wrong.
a good way to start is to check the oil and filters + pickup screen for steel and fiber shavings and grit.that stuff can get into the valve block on top of the tranny, and cause sticky spools and check valves.

I'd have a neighbor tow me down the tar with an articulated 4x4 or even an old crawler while you keep popping the clutch in and out. You may have to add extra weight on back to keep the tires from just sliding so hook up a chisel plow or better yet a set off pallet forks with your pickup truck on them. After a couple of miles she should fire right up.

Had something similar happen years ago when I was helping a friend of mine and he was trying a new 1070 pulling 5X16s I was running his Ford 8000 we switched and he let me try the Case and after a few rounds I came to the end was doing the routine lifting the plow turning left when all of a sudden the steering locked up, plow wouldn't lift and engine pulled down to a dead stop it took us hours to help get it on the truck. If I remember right the factory service block man came to the dealer and spent several days tearing down the transmission and found a bad valve O-ring. As someone already said that tranny is pretty busy and a lot is going on.

thankyou very much indeed for your help do any of you have pictures of the levers and what they do could i have engaged a lever at the same time as another lever that i should not move ie pto and put it in top gear as i dont yet know what the levers do and i was moving all of them whilst the engine was running
