Long tractor

Any opinions about a Long tractor. Not sure yet what it is but I think around 45-50 hp range.Maybe a 610..

I've had a 610 since 1980, has given good service. It's 64 hp, 4 cyl. 50 or so hp is a 510, 3 cyl. Problem now is that the company is out of business and parts may be a problem. Other tractors of that type have been imported under different names so Long is not the only source of parts.

Check on parts availability first. A long tractor is not built real heavy, ballast and front weights are normally needed. I had a R 9500 special which is a 100 hp tractor and pulled a roller with it for years. If the price is right I would say you would be ok.

Thanks guys.I had done a little more research today and became a little concerned about parts availability. I"ll probably let it slide by and keep looking.

Thanks, just looked up his site and have contacted him about D Brown parts I am looking for also..

The early Longs were not Fiats- they were made in Romania (now, there's a "country of origin" that inspires confidence. . .)- Don't know what the parts situation is with them.
