O/T Looking for pics of I.H. Switching Locomotives

I've seen a couple of black & white photos of steam engines used for switching cars around IH factories. I know of only one photo of a diesel owned/leased by Harvester & it's b&w also. A brief description indicated it was painted red & green with gold lettering. May have been used at the plant in Chicago or Rock Island. I'm hoping to come across a color photo or a slide so I can model it on my train layout. I'm also looking for photos of the coal hoppers IH owned or any rail related photos in & around the factories. I've checked with the online archives from Madison & I'm afraid it's not quite what I'm looking for. I know they can search through their photos but, that requires something I don't have a lot of ($). I've poked around on the internet, off & on, for a few years now & have surfaced nothing. Except a reference to the magazine with the afforementioned diesel photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated, for I am rather frustrated - Mike

Most of the old wore out Rail Equipment from around ILL went to the Steeel Mill at Sterling ILL. They in turn used any that had some life left in them until they too were beyond repair or need. The Rail stuff was melted down into I beams,Angle Iron, Bar stock,Fence Wire,Nails etc.In the late 60's I had two Steel Hauling Semi's leased to Aetna Freight lines and Sterling Steel was a major source of Freight for us to haul.I had 3 Semis actually. 2 Mack B75's with 250 Turboed Cummins and 15 speeds Triplex Trans and a Cab over KW w/385 cummins and 16 speed Spicer Trans.I drove the KW leased to Ranger Lines out of ILL.. Just a note for the old truckers from that era to reminice about.

Old Roy, that's very cool! Not quite what I'm looking for but, I await your return. Dave 2 & Uncle Ernie, I posted down in the IH forum & Guy Fay did respond. He made mention of the WHS/IH archives & the Northern Illinois Ralroad (NIWX). There are no pictures on the site, as of yet. NIWX, iirc, may have purchased an engine (EMD NW-2) from IH. I'll have to go "surf the net", later, when I get a minute. Thanks - Mike
