daughter hit a skunk last night with the El Camino...naturally windows were also down. She's OK after a hot shower (or 3 or 4), but the ElCo stinks so bad I can't even park it in the driveway.
Used a whole bottle of Frebreeze on exterior and interior- still stinks to high heaven. Can't imagin you tomoato juice a car...any ideas?
 
Years ago I used a gallon of kerosine to wash a car off. Worked pretty well, with a couple hot soapy washes following and then a wax job. Dont think the kerosine would be "accepted" today. Try the tomato juice but it didnt work on the dog.
 
Did you check under the car? If the skunk is still trapped you will have to remove before you can tackle the odor. You also need to clean the outside, underside, and engine compartment. Just cleaning the interior wont have any noticeable effect if the underside got sprayed.
 

Had a blacksnake wrap around and stink up my arm real bad on a school trip. Had a long drive on a gravel road and the bus driver had me hold my arm out the window most of the way. Washed off all the dust afterward and was my sweet smellin self. If there was a moral to that story, it may be spend plenty of time toolin around gravel roads with the windows down and the fan on hi. Alternate between heat, vent, and AC. Then a good wash afterwards. Tires will hold on to the fragrance for awhile also (just ask the guy that didn't want to drive his tractor through poopy).

If you plan to scrub it down, a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in a gallon of water with some dish soap added is the best de stink you can do.
Just be happy it's a car that could be parked elsewhere. A couple months ago we had what seemed like a dozen skunks right behind our house having a contest to see who could stink the most. We woke up to the whole house smelling like skunk. It took about a week before the smell dissipated.
 
1 cup Hydrogen Peroxide, 1 table spoon baking soda, 1 tablespoon Lemon juice, Liquid dishwashing soap (Dawn etc). this makes 1 batch of foaming deskunking solution. Works well on dogs but I'd try it on the plastic interior parts but would worry about the peroxide bleaching carpet and upholstery.
 
TIME. Wash it good with soapy hot water then wait for nature to do its work. I had a skunk spray in the barn next to the cat dish. "he got a dose of lead" about 10 days ago. The smell is about totally gone today.
 
Had a skunk wedged between the sway bar and oilpan on my 64' Impala when I first started working 2nd shift. Got home from work at 3:30 am. Dad woke me up at 7:00 am and told me I had to do something with the car. Parked in the pasture behind the barn and went back to bed. Found the skunk that afternoon. Poked the skunk out and threw it on the spreader. I power washed the car with Nature's miracle skunk odor remover. (a natural enzyme) and drove my truck that night. Next morning the car smelled fine.
 
go to the doller store and get a cheap female douche and a spray bottle. get 4 or5 bottles of
douche to do the car.that what works best on dogs. and not as mesy as tomoato juice.
 
I heard that one to from a person that does that for a living...I was going to say it earlier ....but I thought it would get a lot of poeple's undies in a bunch...
 
Throw a fish under the seat, in a few days you wouln't smell the skunk. Someone in another post may be right about the skunk still trapped under the car. stan
