Been using the M to haul hay into the stack yard. Darned old gal handles that sled pretty darned well in 5th gear. :>)

Allen I gather you are from Nebraka. I traveled over that state working for a farm machinery company in late 50's and early 60's Remember the the buck rakes and the hay stack, was always a surprise to see a stack of hay coming down the highway. I had one dealer in Valentine. Remember riding with him over a Hay Road out through the Sandhills. are you in this area?

Yeah,
I think that every time I look at 'er, but that old stinker just pulls like a mule.
Maybe someday if I get a few bucks ahead. :>)

Yeah,
The sled is self-loading, but since I have to run around and gather the bales up anyway, I find it faster to just stack 'em on the sled while I'm at it and save a step.
When I have to move a stack, I just reverse the chains and pull the hay on by backing under the load.

Actually, that is the very reason I changed this year.
Put the 686 diesel on the rakes because it will about run all summer doing hay on one tankful, whereas that M will keep ya running with a fuel can.
Anytime ya get about 30 horse or better, the diesel will just run circles around the gassers as to fuel economy and torque.

Hey its great to see the old M still earning its keep! looks great Allen! How did you winter? tough old winter up here, (could have used the M to pull out the stuck H many times this year!) I even found the tire chains in the old garage, I remember helping put those heavy buggers on a few times when I was younger!
