Ford 2910 Clutch

HI,

Looks like I'm going to have to replace the clutch in my Ford 2910 w/Cab. I've never split a tractor before and wondered if someone could give me a few hints on what to watch out for? Or perhaps an article or publication regarding it? Travel in the pedal is all but gone and a very small work area in the pedal. I'm wondering if this might have a pressure plate adjustment like my old Massey has but doubt it??? The Model of this tractor is a BA414C. Thanks in advance for any tips, tricks or pointers. Skip

There is a clutch adjustment in the linkage... I dont' have first-hand experience on that model, but it should be under the left-front corner of the cab, near where the linkage goes into the bellhousing. If you've never adjusted it, that may be all it needs. If it does need replacement, I'd recommend you get a service manual before you start. A cab tractor isn't the easiest for a first one to split. Lots of weight/leverage to deal with.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I'm hoping someone with experience in this area will pop in here and maybe give me a few pointers on actually what to do? Here's hoping and thanks again Fordfarmer

The only adjustment is the free travel in the clutch rod. I beleive you lengthen the rod to get more free travel.
If that's gone or the clutch squalking on engagement, it's time for a clutch.
You've got my sympathy if you need to split that bugger.
Hopefully you can get the top bolts out of the housing without removing the cab...
