Rain update in Wi.

Watched the radar all day yesterday, nothing but green and yellow for 200 miles coming right at us. Well you guessed it, about 40 miles away it just dried up, got all of 2 one hundredths last night, I'll take what I can get but keep blowing it my way, we are getting closer. Dug a couple post holeslast night and there is nothing for moisture in the ground down to 3 feet.

Hope you get it soon. I spread fertilzer monday, and we received about 1-1/4" rain yesterday. That was the 2nd rain of the year for us. Good soaker, I know exactly how you feel, hang in there and keep praying.

well it made it to my house got 6/10 not bad, didn't think it was going to make it here either,I think I'm about 50 miles south of you.

I received 4/10's yesterday. Sounds like the next two days could be a bit rocky with severe thunderstorm chances. I'll be wishing it your way since I have 120 acres of hay thats getting older by the day. I have a bad feeling in a few weeks I'll be glad for every drop were getting tho as I think the faucets going to close up and turn hot.

BTDT. We had severe drought in 2005 and 2006.

James' dad was born and raised where the farm is located. He said it was the first time in his life he had ever seen the spring located about 100 yds. from the house go dry. He was about 84 at the time.

It needs to rain here soon in SW Manitoba or it won't make a difference when it does. We are forecast for rain, but in my 34 years of farming it has always been hit or miss at this time of year. Dry May, wet June works every time here. Could still happen.

Just over half an inch at the farm, thats a little over 3 inchs since I put the gauge out. First rain froze in the gauge. Had a good snow cover too. Now I need some dry time to get the first hay crop.

I emptied about 4.0" from my gauge so far today; got very wet last night while cleaning the gutter downspouts so the basement wouldn't flood.
My son got 6.o" just south of Beulah, ND.
Sure would like to share the moisture with some of you folks!

Good for you. With the cost of fertilizer a guy sure needs it to do it's job. I thought for sure we were going to get some rain that would amount to something, but only 5/100's in the gauge last night, and about 20/100's the night before. Still 1/4 inch is better than nothing.

I am happy with how it all worked out. On that far feild where the beans were last year, this morning I checked and the corn is 24+" tall, guess I am ahead of the "knee high by the 4th of July" guidelines. Should be waist high by then. I just can not beleive how my corn is performing with the lack of moisture I've had. Hopefully you will get some rain soon to green up your pastures.

CJ, I wish you could have some of what we always seem to get here in northeast Missouri. If you had half of what we have received in the last several months we both would be better off. They are talking more rain tonight. We have several acres of beans left to plant and can't get in. Good luck to you on the rain. Mike

Raining here again in LaSalle county Illinois just wish we could finish planting beans and cut 1st cutting hay. Rains almost every couple of days gets about dry enough to plant then rains comes through again.
