Rear View Mirror for Tractor

I need to put a rear view mirror on an Oliver for a tractor ride. Anybody have a picture or idea for a relatively cheap way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just had to get in on this! My first tractor ride, joined a club, good people etc. I wasn't sure how I would fit in until I saw a nice JD M with a rearview mirror on a stick clamped to the steering colum with a hose clamp, I can get along ok with these guys.

I have cobbled up mirror mounts from electrical conduit more than once. The most important thing is to have it rigidly braced. Keep the mounting arms as short as possible. If it wiggles and vibrates you will never bother to use it.

You have to look, but both of these tractors have mirrors on them. I didn't find any good shots of mirrors. Chris

Not sure how "good" you want it to look but my brother rolled a 4 wheeler one summer and was pretty sore. He took an old door mirror off a chevy truck in a fence row some where, one of the ones that had the 3 braces holding it on, wraped the braces with a cut up inner tube to keep from scratch'n the paint, and held it to the fender of our 185 Alice with a hose clamp. He could move round bales of hay with out turn'n round and it has been on there now close to ten years, no one ever got around to take'n it off.

Good luck.

I went to a bicycle shop and bought for $3.99 each, flex-neck mirrors 2 1/2 inches in diameter with convex mag lenses. They have attached clamps designed for handlebars that fit perfectly on the light post of my M. They are small enough not to block the forward view and the magnification feature gives you a good rear view as well.

Dad's old M with the frozen block had one.

Standard windshield mirror from a car. Took the metal square and brazed it onto a rod sticking thru the air cleaner. Then attached the mirror like normal.

We don't get fancy out here too often. Well, Dad didn't anyway.
