OT interesting things to see in mid Ohio

I have not been there for a few years myself and we were going to take some of the grand kids. Air Force museum over at Dayton would be on my list, How about more details of your route. Have you ever toured a Great Lakes freighter?

(quoted from post at 08:36:46 06/14/09) Taking few days wandering around Ohio and wondering if there are places we should see?

If you can spare the time, South and Southeast are real nice. Old Mans Cave, Serpent Mound, Seneca Caverns are North between Cleveland and Toledo... Amish Country is all around Central Oh. Rocky boot factory USED to be in Nelsonville (SE) but could be in China now...

Have Fun,

Dave

The air force museum at dayton ohio is a great place to see, lots of full size airplanes on display inside an air conditioned building. They even have a full size stealth bomber. Also at dayton the right brothers museum, also could take in a dragons ball game at there new stadium.

Not too well known, but The Ohio Caverns are really neat, and The Castles Piatt Macacheek and Macochee near West Liberty, Ohio are just 3 right off the top of my head...Day trips from Dayton...
Later Days,
Bill

This is a joke, isn't it?

No?

Well, let's see......corn and soybeans are pretty prominent.

Pumpkins in and around Circleville...the big attraction is the water tank....yeah , you mustn't miss that.

They have an Indian show in Chillicothe...about $25 a head for tickets, if you leave the kids at home, you might can afford to take it in.

Hmmm, oh,...did I mention corn and soybeans?

You gotta see Lehmans Hardware in Kidron Ohio..Then there's Hartville Kitchen and flea market on Rt. 619 in Hartville..Wineries in northern ohio, Ferrante's , Chalet Debonne' in Geneva and Madison.. Truck pulls at Yankee Lake..Scenic Tours [ follow the signs]..Covered bridges [ Ashtabula county]..

Neil Armstrong Air and space muesum in Wapakoneta, first man on moon; but due to state budjet it may be closing for good on July 21 but it is paying 90%+ of its way. Wapakoneta is my home town, Leroy

How about seeing the outdoor play Tecumseh at Chillicothe, Ohio. Ohio Historical Museum in Columbus. No doubt Wright-Patterson Museum in Dayton is fabulous. Dayton's Carillon Park has a decent museum connected with it and best of all, a family relative had much to do with is existance. Realize that you are a MI native, but if you haven't seen the Horseshoe it would be worth a visit if only to put on a Michigan hex/curse.
