O/T Sweetcorn Horse Radish

A big sweetcorn producer here in Collinsville Illinois (an area where they call the American Bottoms) has sweetcorn tasseling and the silk is turning on the ears already. He said it should be ready by the end of June. I can't wait.

The area they call the American Bottoms, just East of St. Louis, Mo., was named that because the Missippi River used to cover most of that area but it's fertile farm ground now with a lot of sand and they can get in to plant earlier than other farmers can.

This area is also known as the "Horse Radish Capitol Of The World" since 3/4 of the world's Horse Radish is grown in this area also.
