Sod to corn in less than 48 hours

I plowed under the 1st feild on Thursday after work, got started at about 5:00. Plowed the second feild yesterday (Friday) about noon, put the duals on and worked the 1st feild with the cultivator.

Today I worked the 2nd feild, then hooked the drag onto the back of the cultivator and worked them both once again.

Got the planter out and stuck seed in the ground. Screwed up though a little bit. Dad returned the 2 bags of 105 day corn we had and got 2 bags of 91 day Roundup Ready corn as that's all the seed guy could find at such short notice. Also got some plot seed from a neighbor that was RR and he wanted to get rid of it. When we pulled the planter out, we had about a 1/2 bag left of the other (non RR) seed in it, put it in 2 boxes, and the new seed in the other 2.

Did 3 of 4 rounds of the headlands and Dad came out with more seed and to see how it was going- All of a sudden it hit me that 1/2 the headlands aren't Roundup Ready. Said that to him and he was kinda mortified- We dumped it out and put the new seed in all the hoppers and kept on going.

Neighbor was gonna do the spraying for use when he does his corn w/ roundup. Not sure how that's gonna work, but we might have to tell him to stay away from the headlands and we'll hook onto the cultivator and do it the old school way. Oh well. Another day as a farmer.

Go back in and plant RR seed where the conventional is now- just those 2 rows right on top of where you already planted and spray it later with roundup to "thin" your stand of the conventional corn.
