Power Washer Water Supply

I have to do some power washing at a site with pressurized water supply.

Could I a use a tank of clean water and a garden hose connected with the power washer sucking the water from the tank?

Thanks

Don

Didn't work well for me. Probably would if I raised the water supply tank 8 ft or so with a loader and had more head pressure. I finally hooked up a gas powered centrifugal pump with a adjustable external bypass (hand valve) between the water supply and power washer. The bypass funneled extra water from the pump outlet to the pump inlet.

I have done that with a small karcher washer & plastic 55 gal drum.--fitted a water faucet in bottom--unloaded washer to grd. level, drum on service truck, bled air. may not work on large washer--I was always surprised @ the milage I got on a drum of water--sure helped when working on equip in field. worked together on job with guys that had big hot water pressure rig--they called my set-up "gentle cycle"--paul

I was at a car dealership one day and one of the guys was washing vehicles in the lot using a gas powered pressure washer with water supplied from a large plastic tank in the back of a pickup.
Was working real well.
