From today's you couldn't make it up if you tried file.......external_link's protectors have ordered graduating Midshipmen....and I suppose Commissioned Officers through Flag rank...to leave their swords at home. Full Dress White includes "wear sword". More to the point...those badges of office have been earned in a manner Obongo and his minions just wouldn't begin to understand. Important traditions that inspire are kind of lost on the red banner crowd, apparently.

Further, ceremonial swords never seemed to bother the Secret Service for any previous President. And before World War II, the swords were not particularly "ceremonial", I've seen some of those blades, boarding actions did occur on the China Station pre-war against river pirates, warlords, etc. Those swords were worn not just to graduation, but to Inaugurations, in the receiving line at the White House afterward, to the Inaugural Ball. Somehow nobody gave it a second thought. Somehow even Presidents in the past didn't presume to specify items of uniform.

But of course, what worked for Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, F.D.R., the Bushes, T.R., any other rational non-cult leader.....doesn't work for this former state senator anointed by the Chicago machine.

Does he secretly consider our Naval and Military leaders "the enemy"? Perhaps the message this sends escaped his handlers. Sad. And .....follow me on this external_link and minions.....insulting. Actually it's contemptible.

The largest nnalert population outside of Arab countries is in Dearborn, MI. They openly boast of external_link as a nnalert and cite that as a reason for Michelle not accompanying external_link to Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Sharia law (Hanbali). They also cite his obvious, deep bow to the King of Saudi Arabia as an important message to the nnalert world.
 
This isn't funny anymore, not that it ever was. external_link is overtunring many American traditions. Did you notice how he didn't have a State of the Union Address? Rather just an "Address" to both houses of congress.

The Queen of England left out of ceremonies at Normandy. The only leader left that was alive and took part in the war effort. She drove a truck and was a nurse. Quite the slap in the face for our (apparently former) closest ally.

Giving Iran the go-ahead for nuclear arms.

Turning our back on Israel, another of our strongest allies for the last 60 years, and the only democracy in the Middle East, other than Iraq now. (Thank you US Military)

Doing nothing about North Korea and the fact that they now have the bomb, and missiles to deliver them to our shores.

Laying down and submitting to the Communist Chinese.

Cozying up to Middle East Dictators.

And oh yes, coming after our guns very soon.

New word just out on Bloomberg.com via DrudgeReport.com. "Taxing wealthy instead of workers to pay for new health-care overhaul". Hmm, I guess that falls under more "spreading the wealth around". They want legislation passed and ENACTED BY AUGUST. Very fast. Included in that article is a plan to cap charitable donations on the "wealthy". Good way to stop them from giving and, therefore, requiring more government control of charitable organizations. More people dependant on the government. Sticks it to the chirches too, a factor I'm sure was not overlook by the external_link administration.

I guess this is what you external_link supporters/voters wanted. True socialism moving quickly toward communism and a populace dependant on the government. But it feels good sticking it to the rich, doesn't it?

Fools. Giving away the country and the freedoms our fathers fought and died for.

I am sorry to hear that you feel that way. I was a college history professor, and I usually respond to right wing banter with sarcasm. However, when someone attempts to deliberately assassinate someone's character(in this case the Presiden'ts) by blatant lies which could have easily been checked, I become very upset. Whether you are conservative, moderate or abundant you seem like a person who would have an appreciation of truth

Do you think external_link is smart enough to be a little worried about his safety? Or is he still so much into his messianic role that he thinks he's impervious to harm? With what he's doing, he's making a lot of enemies. I predict (and hope) that it won't be long before some of those who voted for him begin saying "WTF did I do?"

Moe Lane is blogger, apparently of the conservative persuasion. He states on his site that he is a nnalert. I can't say I know anything about the man; a link in one of the comments to the Washington Times post led to his blog.
