have been on every website-have ride on tractor mower and tipped on angle-deck was 42 inches and had to push it out-now the wheels are out of line no matter how i turn the steering wheel the wheels either both face out or one is straight and the other one is sideways, can't steer it at all-but i can back up to move it barely-from underneath i do not see anything loose or broken -there is a wheel with a belt on it and above it is a bar shaped like a v and it's a little chewed up- is that bar pushed over that wheel and not supposed to be bent -i don't know -please help -need my mower very badly-use it all the time- any help would be greatly appreciated

its only a craftsman 18.5 but my father always said go right to a pro- it didn't turn over but the ridge on an angle and the bed could not come up any higher so i got off and pushed it until the ground was level-after that it just wouldn't steer-and i know just enough to get myself out of troubles with no one to help.

Sounds like you bent the linkage and/or some brackets or maybe broke something. Is there a loose or missing spring somewhere that might have come loose or got lost when taken out of tension?

That V shaped bar is probably the guard that keeps the belt from jumping off the pulley when it is disengaged.

Best bet is bent steering linkage. And probably the likely culprit is the cross over linkage between the two wheels.

There is a bar that links to the two wheel axles that keeps the wheels straight. It is probably bent due to putting undue force against one of the wheels. It is about a 3/8 round piece of metal and should be perfectly straight. I have 2 sears riders and actually bent that bar on one of them. Straightening the bar will help for a while but once its bent you need a new one. The old one will keep bending due to weakening at the point BTDT. Henry
