Atrazine Question

I should probably know the answer to this considering I'm in the herbicide business, but I know there is a lot more experience on here:

On Sunday, I sprayed atrazine on my sweet corn field, 4 pts to the acre. It was a postemergent application with the corn being about 6" tall. About 2 hours after spraying, it started raining and just now stopped, we got over 6" here in North Florida this week (we needed it bad). My question is, will the atrazine still be effective after all that rain? The label really doesn't say.

Thanks in advance for the help.

We have both heavy clay and a more sandy, gravelly ground. If you have a lot of clay
your probably OK. If the ground is on the
light side, I think you might lose it. That
has been my experience.

I prefer to apply atrazine just prior to a medium to light rain.

My experience is that you'll be fine.

Atrazine is very soluable. It will move with water. That was why is has been pretty much outlawed in some states. Princep (simazine)is much more stable and probably would have been a better choice.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I do have some simazine, if the atrazine doesn"t work I"ll come back with it and some Aim. Have a great weekend!
