OT do not call list for cell phones

Heard again that cell phone number are to be published next month. Anybody know about this? Do we just give all our phones back? Seriously? Dave

You can get put on the do not call list for cell phones. Call your provider.

I called my number in and it was lagit. I had received that email from a friend. His son checked it further and according to Snopes you don't need to. Here is the link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp

I have been receiving calls from telemarketers.
I called Verizon to complain they said the only way a number was givin out was if someone gave it to one of those dept store giveaway stations that give you a junk item for a couple questions.

I have since then registered both my cell and land line in the " national do not call list"

They had 30 days to stop,or be punished through the law. 2 weeks after registering all such calls stopped. and all has been quiet for 6mo. now

Just Google it now and register your numbers.and call your cell phone provider to see if giving out your number is in their plan. If it is threaten them that it would give you a cause to break your contract, and since they are going to break it first, you should not have to pay the penalty. and tell them you will look elsewhere for a phone.

Register on the do not call list and save the link to turn in complaints on those that still call later. They quit calling my cell after that but still getting that stupid warranty call and I"ve filed 3 complaints on them so far. The rest of have quit calling for now. The Snopes thing is a line crap don"t register and you"ll keep getting the calls and more.

Are you getting the call that starts out like "this is the last notice that your factory car warranty is about to expire,,,,"?

If you are I will tell you how I stop'm, no joke. They called several times and I finaly hit 2 to talk to some one. They told me that they could extend my car warranty. I said "hot dang! Are you sure? This is great, I just put a wooden flat bed on my 77 cheby after an old cow tore the side off the bed try'n to get to a bale of hay this winter, then I was drive'n down the road last week and it back fired and caught fire. I likedto of wrecked try'n to drive fast nuff to put the fire out. I over heated it drive'n that fast cause it ain't gone over 45 mph the last ten years, since I bent that drive shaft out ride'n round and drink'n barley pops one night, any way it got so hot it melted the radiar hose, is there any way you can get me a new bed? Hello, any body there? Hello, maam, where did you go?"

That was about 6 weeks ago, ain't heard noth'n them since.

How do I get on a do not mail list? Or actually the do not distribute non-postage stamped mailbox stuffers that get delivered each day.

It's getting like all the innards of a Sunday paper in my mailbox daily.

I also talked to a representative a few years back about extending the warranty on the only vehicle I had registered and was driving, a 1949 Chevy 1 ton flatbed.

They were not the least bit amused as I tried to found out rates for such. Even reminding them that they called me didn"t seem to set well. If the shoe fits---
