Who's helped on this board?

I your opinion, who has been the biggest help here when you've exhausted all that you know, and you call out to for solid advice about tractors, tools, livestock and crops?

buickanddeere, Ptbrowning, jdmeris, BruceinVA, are a few that come to mind for me because of information they've provided for me in past posts from their own experience.

Of course, I enjoy following the Lance / Allis chronicles!

You're right!
There's probably a lot more, and I think that is what makes this board so enjoyable AND educational.
jdmeris was even providing part # for JD construction equip. before he took a break

Like him, many others willingly share what they know and I for one thank them!

My list is probably up to a few hundred, it seems like. There are a lot of good and knowledgable people here. Too many for me to list.

Short on time, I'll skip over threads that I don't have much interest in, but when I'm looking in classic view and see certain posters, I may look anyway.

I know I can count on the people on here for information and advise, and would like to thank everyone. I have also met several people on here, and am glad that I did. You all have a great day. Chris

guiding Lanse through the school of hard knocks is a worthy cause. Do you remember when he was new here a couple of years ago? He has made some hard won progress and some character building failures.

I would not hazard to draw up a list of posters who helped me for fear of missing a few. I owe a lot, and I mean a LOT to this board, in particular to the Tractor Talk and Farmall & IHC forums, and to its posters/contributors.
Have a nice day. Hendrik

Cant forget RodinNS and Bern on the Ford board, Elmer on the Case board and who knows how many others. Thanks to you all!!!!

Too many to list. A battleship couldn"t hold what I"ve learned on this board and that doesn"t take into account the giggles.

I have had a LOT of help from people on this board. When I started about ten years ago I found so much info by searching the archives. I pretty much started out knowing zero about these old tractors and there was a wealth of info found there. I didn't have anybody local to go to so this board made it possible for me to enjoy this great hobby. There used to be a guy on here named Clooney that knew so much about the old JD's and was very willing to share his knowledge with anyone even though I am sure he answered the same beginner questions a thousand times. There have been many that took the time to help such as Duane Larson and Pat Browning. Thanks Guys!

I like to hear what Lance has done lately, and was his age when I tried my hand at rebuilding a JD B. There were no PC's then, and my source of info was dad, but it was hard to work with him telling me I should have done this or that.......

After I'd already do it!

There are alot of good people Who help out on this site but Mike M always seems to have the best advice when comes to tractors.

Thanks Mike M and everyone else who has helped me out over the years.

Thank you for the compliment; it is sincerely appreciated.

While surfing the web one day I saw a banner that read "learn what you need and share what you know".

Will continue to follow that motto.

On the YT site I get the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from both ways.

Too many good folks to list on this forum, Implement Alley, John Deere, and Using Your Tractor & Crop Talk.

I appreciate y'alls help over the years.

(quoted from post at 14:00:25 05/19/09) AJ for me. He has forgotten more than most people will ever know.

I would have to agree---AJ has helped me with many issues!

I've leaned alot from the many different helpful people on this board and the other boards too. I always enjoy the pictures posted by the REAL farmers too, doing there everyday thing. Since I always wanted to be a REAL farmer but did't want to give up the steady income my job provides for me its nice to see how the big boys do it. I even have to admit I've leaned alot from some of our friends acrost our border, especialy our IH authority. I live in Mi.and I enjoy hereing whats going on in the farming world in Neb. Iowa, Ill. and other parts of the country. So keep up the posting and all the good pictures. Maybe someday I can figure out how to post pictures and you can all laugh at my ringy-dink operation with my two-bottom plow, two row corn planter, and my one row corn picker.

Received a lot of help from F.I.T., Mike M, and Blksmke on the JD board. They are always willing to give good sound assistance with a problem. Many others as well. Thanks to all - Bob

Yup, same here lol. hey, helping any or not, i really have to thank you and DickL for it :)

John T, for his 3 page electrical troubleshooting guide. Great to have all that in one place! I've printed it out, and have it in the shop.

I'm pleased to see that I have helped out some folks on here.
Back when I started messing around with old tractors around 1976 ? and very young at 13 it was VERY hard to get any advice and taken seriously. Alot of the local shops just wanted you to bring it in to them.

I have also learned alot of things from this forum too. Hard to pin point anyone or thing in peticular. Just reading alot of the posts some of it sinks in and you remember it at a later date. I have even passed along some of those things to others in need.

Thanks to all.

All kidding aside Mike, I appreciate reading your responses. You always help without trying to act like "Mr Thinker" There are others as well. I even usually have to read B&D's replies as well even though I don't like his attitude most of the time. He is a sharp individual. Some of you guys really have knowlege on these old machines that is priceless. I get a kick out of seeing just how much some of you do know. Thanks again for your help. Mike M, F.I.T., B&D, John T, Duane Larson, RobMD, and many, many others on the JD board.

I don't ask a lot of questions on here because I generally take to reading books I have at home first, but in times that I was flat out stuck, Bern and RickB have given me some good advice.
That said, I tend to think that I learn something new on here every day and it's hard to single out any one person for that. I've probably learned somethign from nearly everyone that posts here...
If I didn't, it probably wouldn't be interesting enough to keep coming back.

Can't put a finger on all that has help me to help others that do farm full time. through your knowledge of various aspects of Farming , Law information ,electrical information,Even my fresh water pump/ tank problem. not to mention The identity of my sickle bar mower.

I no longer farm , but I live in between several farms all are good neighbors and some of the information has helped them without you knowing through your links posted, and knowledge you put forth.

As far as the O/T subjects I think it's good to relate to human problems as well, not to mention the wonderful friends you encounter.

I have to say,~~~" Thank you all! "

Thanks for 1st mention but there are many here that know more and have done than I can.
Even some of the "characters" that have posted in the past have helped. They sometimes provide a contrasting view which assists in seeing the facts. And even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Aaaah, it was nothing!

Its just every time I think of or see your name, I smile and remember how exasperated you get when trying to explain why perpetual motion mahcines don't work!

Like others have said, it would take too long to list everyone that makes this site work as it should.

I hesitate to single out any one person. The greatest thing about this board is the diversity of the folks here. It seems that no matter how obscure the subject, there's someone here who knows something about it.

That said, I have a special fondness for John T's law 'n' 'lectricity posts. Even when I don't learn something new, I still get a good chuckle.

Sorry, I'm better at trouble shooting electrical than I am conversing with people.
I've always wondered why it's ok and even considered cute to be unable to program a VCR and have good people skills.
Yet a person is considered weird if they can program a vcr without using the instruction manual. If they also struggle reading the obvious and subtle communications from people.
