Finished soybeans tonight(I'm beat).Got in about 75 acres today, changed over planter for corn next year and put everything away for the '09 planting season.

Worked the ground with the Versatile 500 and JD 960 36' field cultivator and planted with Oliver 1755 diesel and JD 7000 8 30's.

Corn is coming up nice.Alfalfa needs to be cut,so the haybine comes out next and greased up.

More pics to come!

Very Nice. Im thinking about gettin a 6 row splitter planter. Would this be worth the money and would it net me any more bushels per acre planting on 15 1/2 rows?

No pics of planting from central IL because there hasn't been much. Brother hooked onto the drill today. Maybe later this week. Most of the corn ground a way to wet.

your planter must be older then mine or somthing. mine has the fold up marker arms. i got the same planter except that. nice lookin operaton you got there! always like to see pictures!

Thanks DF.

Not sure about the 7000's age.My parts planter which is a 7000 8 row wide has the fold-up markers. That thing is sure dang handy to have around!Cobbed a few parts off'er this spring!

Bet thats a great feeling being done. Nice machinery, not many of those 500's around, i have only seen one besides yours, it looks in good condition, good thing you dont have sound with that photo, i see its running at a cool 2500rpm, we would be saying WHAT! for a while. LOL.

Corn planting is still going on around here, havent seen anyone puting beans in yet.

How many acres do you farm Brad? What do you all put in. Getting it all in is a great feeling. What isnt such a great feeling is the lack of moisute, well at least right here. Only good thing about the lack of moisture is that the roots should be heading deep right now which should help later in the summer. Nice pics.

Dave, been cold around here. Most early planted(2 weeks ago) beans haven't came up yet.The one's that are don't look good(half germination).Alot of acres getting re-planted right now.

We put in around 200 acres of corn, beans and alfalfa.

While splitters are nice, and 15" rows are nice if you don't have alot of ground to cover you can split your tracks with a 30" planter and do a good job if you watch what you are doing. If you want 15" you can spend over twice as much for a good used spliter planter or you can take twice as much time to cover your bean ground.
