ford tractor with water in oil

Hello everyone,
I have a 1982 3610 new holland 3 cylander diesel tractor.
The water is mixing with the oil but not oil with water in the radiator,
runs great not a cylander related issue.

Thought maybe the head gasket bad or cracked head so replaced both had no change with the problem. When you fill the radiator up with water it runs out the oil pan with the plug out. Is there a gasket in the front of the engine that would do this or what eles don't i know .
Any help at all would be greatfull

Thanks frank :)

My guess would be a head gasket, cracked head or cracked block. Those blocks were bad about pitting and rusting holes thru the coolong jackets if the cooling system was not well taken care of.

Hello Frank,
I would pull the oil pan and look to see where the water is comming from. I know I have had trouble with borring those engines and hitting sand holes in the block casting. then you have to put in a sleeve.
I can't think of any thing in the front cover or water pump that would get water in the oil.
If it is a pin hole in the block you will see it when you pull the oil pan.
Good Luck Ed

Like Ed said pull the pan and see. Had a four cylinder Ford that did that. It was a hole in the bottom of the cylinder.Put a sleave in it. Still running today.

If it's a large volume of water, it could be a core plug in the head. If it's not so large, and the more likely scenario anyway... a perforated cylinder wall. If it doesn't have the ribbed block, it's the perfect age and well known for it...
