Dubuque - Louisville

Just wondering here -- What is the significance of a Dubuque John Deere or a Louisville Farmall? I see this specification occasionally and don't know what makes them different of special.
Good Luck and God Bless.

John Deere the Dubuque tractors were the vertical type engines like the M, 40, 420, 430, 320, 330, 440. The Waterloo tactors were the horisontal type engine like the A, B, G, D, H, R, 50, 520, 530, 60, 620, 630, 70, 720, 730, 80, 820, 830.

IHC 's Louisville tractor Works produced the Cub/Cub Lo-Boy in the "Farmall" version and the International version. The Plant also produced the Cub Cadet Garden Tractor until closure of the plant and divesture of IHC. IHC also had a Foundry Casting Plant in Louisville Ky.A combination of competition with lower wage manufacturers, bad management decisions and poor engineering and research caused,in my opinion as a former employee, the collapse and fire sale of IHC,I still like the little Cub Tractor and keep one out of sight mostly.

I think in the context when you hear the term "Louisville Tractor", most often, people are referring to the Super M`s that were produced at the Louisville plant. As you may or may not know, Farmall M`s were all made at Farmall Works in Rock Island,IL.During Super M production, I think it`s because IH couldn`t pump out enough tractors out of Farmall Works, they manufactured some Super M`s at the Lousville Works. I don`t know how many were made there for sure, it was in the thousands ,though.
Also made at Louisville were the late A`s, the C,Super A, Super C,100,200,130,230,140,240,404,2404,424(skidded from Doncaster,England and finished here)

By and large, Dubuque tractors were little more than a cheap WalMart special.IMO.lol.

I cannot agree with that. They were designed for a different type of use and that different type of use is what brought on the design of all the Deere tractors from the new generation on up.
