ot Posted before about removing the saging headliner on my 92 gmc extended cab pickup.Well I just ripped it out,now need advice about the molded backing. It is in good shape, and removed most of the old adhesive.First can I paint thebacking, and should Itry spraying the paint on or should I brush it on,using lots of drop cloth. Also old adhesive is a pain to remove.Have you done this job and how did you handle it. (help)

I had a sagging headliner in an Olds 98. I looked at it and then paid someone under $100 to replace it for me. One of my better decisions.

Did one a few weeks ago, clean like you are doing, got some 3M headliner spray adhesive, got some new material at wallyworld that almost matched the original perfect and cheap too. followed instructions on adhesive and it looks like a new one.

I cleaned one in a Mustang with 120 grit sandpaper on a pad sander. Glue came right off. Used spray adhesive and fabric from an auto upolstery supply. Came out as good as new. Don't think I spent more than $40 for it.
