engine rebuild kits

I was wondering how many people on this site has installed a Tisco engine kit? What country did the parts come from? Did you measure all the parts to see if they were to the correct size? How many hours have you put on your Tisco parts rebuilt engine since the rebuild? Are the hours work hours or parade hours?

Also if I were to buy a rebuild kit from my local agco dealer (agco kit) what countries would the parts be made in? Do you know for sure?

thanks for you time.

I used a Tisco kit many years back for a Farmall C all went well. Don't know where they were from. Got it from a local fellow who was a Tisco dealer and he had used those kits for many many years.
What are you working on ?

Same as Mike M below. Did it with a Super C and can't remember all the details now. It went together well. The Super C runs well and is a great puller. Got kit from a local dealer.

Have you checked with an AGCO dealer ? they do Allis don't they ? Maybe they have some good pricing or updated kit design aftermarket may not have.

there are all kinds of rebuild kits out there every thing from cheep to out of sight. and as to country of origin good luck on getting a truthful answer on that one. i have rebuilt a lot of engines and can't say i have ever had a bad kit but have had bad sales people that had no idea what they were doing as far a matching kits to engine speck. Perkins use ser. no. for parts brakes and they just don't look at the right numbers even when i give them the ser. number

I rebuilt a CA Allis with a Tisco kit. It turned out fine. I did it almost 10 years ago. I don't know what it has for hours on it. Most are road miles on tractor rides. Last year I got a bush hog that really makes it work and the tractor seems like it produces the power it should. Doesn't burn any noticeable amount of oil. It's pretty much always had Mobil 1 5-30 in it in the summer and 0W-20 in the winter.
Check your local AGCO dealer. My local dealer (R&R Equipment, Indianola IA.) is usually cheaper than places like nnalert and Tisco on just about everything.
