Highland Twins

Had these two little guys the other morning. The cow is a highland cross bred to highland bull. Cow is taking care of both so all is well. Its been awhile since we had twins. My kids loved them!!!!!!!

I've been raising highlanders and crosses for years never get twins, that is great I cross mine with Hereford what are yours crossed with ?thanks for the pics

I read somewhere that a pure bred highlander will not have twins, not sure if that is true or not, I also raise Scottish Highland Sheep (Scottish Blackface) and they have twins and triplets.

Raised'em for 10 yrs & never had twins, didn't ever know anyone who raised'em to have twins.

Please be careful with the children around the calves. We had a mamma cow take exception to one of my little girls petting her calf and gave her a good head but that sent her flying and broke her collar bone. Luckily our border collier pitched into the cow and kept her occupied so the kid got out with out more harm. Fortunately our cow had no horns.

The picture of my daughter with the calf is before the mother was in the barn. I grabbed one twin and then went back to get the other twin and the cow. I have been around cows my entire life and we don't take risks.
