OT: GPS on Antique Tractor

Any of you guys using an Ag Gps on your antique tractors? I have been looking at a TeeJet light bar and it seems that it would be nice for using with a broad cast spreader in the pasture.

Yep it will work if you can put the antenna in the center of the hood and have 12 Volt Neg ground system.

It would be better if the antenna was higher than your head.

I use a Garmin 60CS (low end, general purpose hand-held) to record distance and acreage covered with my Super M. It also gives an extremely accurate (to 0.1 mph) speedometer.

The unit clips nicely to the headlight bracket. And it'll run a couple days on a single pair of rechargeable AA batteries - no electrical or antenna connections required.

If a Case 2290 qualifies as a antique then yes I sure do. Added it for 2T2 to make his life easier. We use that tractor for spring tillage and spraying. I have the auto steer also but that can only be used for preemerge operations. Thinking this may be the last year for major tillage on my place.

A light bar would be just the ticket for a fertilizer buggy. All you will need is a 12 volt powersource. Might even be able to run it off a good battery if your tractor only has 6. Ask when you buy if this is the case. Just check the specs there should be a minimum voltage required.
