Got the injector in and tried to start it and the starter got messed up. The starter motor spins but it won't engage(pulled the electromagnetic solenoid). I'm thinking bout trying new batteries but have a bad feeling I'm going to need to pull the starter and get it fixed. Any advise? Thanks, Alex.

Now if this had the common GM-type starter, the starter motor will not spin until the solenoid is engaged. To start the tractor, you hit the key, it energizes the solenoid, it pulls back on the solenoid, and then it makes contact to put electricity to the starter motor.
If your starter motor turns, your solenoid should be okay. If your starter motor turns, but not the engine, you have a bad starter drive and it needs to be replaced.
Maybe somebody will chime in here and tell me I'm completely off my rocker.

Kruse has it. The drive is defective. If you think you can dismantle the starter , you can change it your self. Check the brushes and bushings while you are in there....

My Harley did the exact same thing years back on a trip out west. Just a bad starter drive, easy fix. Only downside was nobody had just the drive without having to order it, ended up having to buy a complete starter to get back on the road. Got a spare starter now, though.
