Allis Chalmers B oil pump ???

I have an Allis B I have been trying to bring back to life ,got it going tonight but no oil pressure. Is there a way to prime oil pump without splitting tractor ???

You may be able to prime the pump by removing the gage, attaching a line to the gage port and forcing oil thru the system. I do this with a homemade air over oil tank. About 15 psi and 2-3 qts.of oil is enough to fill all of the oil galleries on an engine. That way you have full oil pressure and flow immediately on start up. I have heard a lot about Allis B engines losing oil pump prime, but it's never happened to mine in the 60 years I have used it. As Old says, check to be sure the tube is in place that goes up thru the center of the oil filter, that is a common problem. Worth a try.
