I am also looking for plates for my IH 56 that will plant med. flats, but I don"t know the plate #. The plates I have are for med rounds. Will they work for flats?

sure if you want to drop more than one seed every time that plate indexes...

EBAY... there are more lustran plates on ebay than one can shake a stick at... a 4 set usually can be snagged for $10 delivered give or take a dollar or two...

There is a 56 series manual on ebay right now... or you could call the CNH manual department and get one from them... or if you have a 6 row you could give binder books a hollar... plenty of sources out there for 56 planter info...

Check your seed bag tag or call your dealer and see what plate is recommended for your seed...
