1 DAY,Gas went up 38 cents everywhere!

You know I think we have all had just about all we can take from these damn oil companys the past couples years to last us all a life time. One thing about it we have a president that cares now.

Today, gas is 1.98 and diesel is 2.05.
Gas jumped from 1.84 two days ago, diesel is the same.
Deep South Texas.

My pickup is diesel, so I don't pay much attn to gasoline. However, here in southern Missouri, gas was $1.75 on Saturday, now $1.99.

I guess summer is coming.

they own the gas........ they can charge what ever they want for it.

I dont like the prices I pay for fuel but no one is holding a gun to my head making me buy it. I chooice to pay their price cause I am too lazy to ride a bike, or walk, or to travel by horse.

Been steady here in Nor California for a couple weeks. Haven't driven by the station today though. $2.39 for diesel $2.43 for gasolinne.

For one reason: It was released on the news today that ethanol M-A-Y-B-E worse for the enviroment than gasoline. So now the demand for non-ethanol gas wil be very high and the oil companies want to RAPE us again. If you remember high fuel costs are what drove this countries economy into the toilet. The only reason they dropped them to around $2 was so they wouldn't look like the bad guys. It's all a conspiracy!!!!

go figure! somebody farts in the middle east and we have to open the windows. when the h*** are they going to regulate the oil companies.

G.Bush and Cheney are doing it for their oil buddies!!Uh...thats right they ain't in Washington
DC No Mo.Wonder who all the nut cases will blame now? Think I hears a truck coming up the road now(LOL)

Hmm, I'd call it "encouraging news". Demand for fuel could mean that the economy is starting to turn around. I'm sure the thousands of unemployed oilfield workers around the country would like to see gas prices go up a bit more.

How little we remember: A few months ago when gas prices were around four bucks a gallon, a number of you folks were saying "just think what it would do for our economy if gas went below two bucks a gallon!" Well, you got your wish: Gas went down to a buck-fifty the same time the economy tanked. So much for that theory. Now, gas prices are going up. Well, the bad news is you have to pay more for gas. But it's still a bargain compared to a year ago. And it just might mean good news for the economy.

Consider first that the oil companies reinvest a major amount of profit dollars into research and development, deal with the Eco-marxists on a dialy basis and take all the risk in drilling and finding the petro. On the otherhand our government (federal & State) take multiples more in taxes than any so-called "big oil" company makes in profit. Where is your outrage now.
Furthermore, ever wonder why so many gas stations have convenient stores attached to them? It's because they make no money on the sale of fuel. Has anyone bothered to ask "big govt" where all the tax money that they are collecting is going? Can you say Acorn. Check out the link below for more info.

The goal of the external_link Admin. is to have all of us paying $6.00/gal of gas and driving that golfcart with a 4 cylinder engine called SMART. Sounds stupid to me.

Probably when America throws out all those old fogie Pollies who have been warming seats for 25 years, carry too much baggage, a new broom sweeps clean.

external_link when asked about the high price of gas back during the campaign process said that he did not have a problem with the fact that the US was paying $4.25/gal but only that it increased so quickly. Also, external_link strongly supports new and increasing cafe standards which have financially devistated the auto industry. And lets not forget taxes, taxes, and more taxes. Now we will sacrafice vechicle safety for mpg and feed the global warming histeria further.

Except for the fact that we have a new administration that rejects drilling here. Well atleast Argetina will do well.

Lumpy:

You're right on target. Lower gas prices from Ethanol production means higher food prices. Corn for gas or Corn for food? Insanity

CMorris,

In this case, the position of the current administration is irrelevant. NOBODY is going to drill in the US for $50 a barrel oil. Drill rigs are idled all across the country, not for lack of drilling sites, but because there's no demand for the oil that those wells would produce.

I think gas prices followed the economy, and high prices were a part of the economic failure.

I think the oil companies get plenty of money from tax breaks and grants for research.
With modern technology they can probably tell you where every drop of oil in the world is.
I think our gov needs to be made accountable for our monies.

And of course there's always the ID that says you don't have to use gas. Of course you don't have to use electricity, home heating oil, milk, water, etc. They're all optional, you could just go back to the 1700's and hunt and make everything yourself.
Just pick a day and don't use any oil based product and tell me how that works out for you.

external_link's the only president that tried to keep or even remembers campaign promises.

We could be paying $10 a gallon if they rose slowly since the 50's. Most foreign countries that pay $10 get a benefit from the higher fuel prices, they actually get their roads fixed and health care.
If the Bush/Cheney mafia ripped off the people by causing fuel prices to rise, and not regulating the thieving banks and mortgage companies, which caused the perfect storm for the countries economy to crash which in turn a lot of people won't be buying cars, so the cafe probably won't have much to do with whether the car manufactures make it or not. Foreign made cars consistently get better fuel mileage than our cars.

Noticed by your handle casedeereihmassey ,, Got a problem ,. if you could relate . Local folks say there is no coupler made to accomodate old style 1070 case to couple JD couplers , ONLY CASE TO Pioneer ,,I told them Horse -pu-toot,, but havent found any yet ...any ideas ?

Hey j heitkemper, I have a 970 and I converted it to pioneer couplers. Case has a special pipe thread adaptor you must get to convert there thread to a standard thread then put on what ever coupler you want. I had thought of taking the rubber coated portion of the line to a shop cut off the case portion and have differant ends pressed on. Best of luck

I can't get over how much difference the election makes...a year ago, when a nnalert was in the White House and gas was $4 a gallon, you folks were telling the people who complained that it was simply a business passing along its increasedf costs, and America needed to either suck it up and pay it, or simply not buy it.

Now that gas prices are abour half what they wre then, and there's a nnalert in the White House, suddenly it's "rape."

You folks are pathetic.

Jim, you're looking the wrong way... I filled up in Corydon last Friday for $1.98-9/10 a gallon, and today I filled up there for $2.18-9/10 a gallon. Once in awhile, the bargain's in Corydon...not often, but once in awhile.

Early part of last week, I had business out on Bardstown Road in Louisville. I was surprised to see regular unleaded at $2.07-9/10 a gallon, while diesel was $1.98-9/10 per gallon. First time I'd seen diesel cheaper than gas in a LOOOOOOOONG time.

Going to work, the store, the doctor are forcing me to buy gas.
Same point to you, DA, as the other one, you just stop using oil based products for a day.
How long would you have your job, without buying gas? Isn't just you, no one forces your job to buy gas either.
Just an ignorant statement. even the Amish around here would come to a stand still without gas.

I suppose you don't believe in "money makes the world go around" either.
The gas prices affect everyone. It's not just how much you use in your car,
it underlies cost increases in most products that we consume. It's not as simple as "don't buy it if you don't like it".

MI:

True. Although, Mr. Geithner already stated the external_link position as "No Drill", "No Coal". I have been working in the oilfields in Ft. McMurray, China, and Russia for the past 15 years. We are expecting the production to go back online in September '09. When this happens petro in the US will most likely be somewhere around $3.50/gallon. This will not be where it stops. When President Bush lifted the executive ban on offshore drilling the price of petro fell starting the next day to where they are today. Without competition from the US we will be held over a barrel again, literally. I hope that I'm wrong.

HA,HA,HA.I think I will leave this one alone since I dont have a clue why its going up other than they do whatever they want any more.
