OT Bobcat Excavator

We have a Bobcat 328 excavator we want to sell as we are done using it. Unfortunately the drive motor for the tracks just went bad on one side. We tore it down and cleaned it up and called Bobcat for parts. Talk about sticker shock!! The hydraulics are fine. All we need is some seals and bearings for the gearbox. Price $2406.00!!!!!!!! You got to be kidding. The one bearing I can find a # on was $107 from them and online I found it for $9.80. All the parts from Bobcat seem to be 10 times what they should be. I can’t find #s on any of the other bearings but just cant bring myself to waste that much money. Just cant seem to match them up anywhere else. Any other suggestions?

Someone at the local bearing supply I deal with would mic the bearings inside and out, go in the back and come back with the right one or order it for the next morning. Service manual or parts book should have the numbers you need.
 
Agree with LAA; if you're anywhere close to a decent bearing and/or seal supply place they should be able to match what you've got, assuming the seals aren't in pieces.
If you're way out somewhere, make new post with model # etc, that you need part numbers, and someone'll probably be able to send numbers that you can get matched online. Good luck.
 
Yup go to a good bearing house they'll take of you.

I wemnt to by a seal from Deere. They wanted $42.00 for a kit. Went to a seal place and it was $6.00

If you don't have the parts/service manual, see if you can download it. It should have the parts numbers you need. Then go to a bearing supply. Should be much cheaper.

If you don't have a manual and can't download one, like the others say, take what you need to the bearing supply and they can probably match it up.
 
dang tim, i checked out your website. man, you got some wild pieces of machinery there!!!!! how do you find the time to work on all them!!! be great to hang out in yer shop for a couple days!!!
